"Trish Scott is an amazing teacher. She can get right to the point and delivers her teachings with the utmost respect and care for her student. As a teacher of the Alexander Technqiue, I was amazed and delighted by the similarities in philosophy and pedagogy that Trish used in her New Approach to teaching violin! I loved the focus on body awareness and balance as a starting point. Trish really has a unique style of teaching that looks at how a person uses
themselves in relation to the violin. In my opinion, this is a highly evolved way of teaching that makes something complex simple and fun. I had a wonderful experience learning violin from Trish and would recommend her to anyone."

Music Teacher Salt Lake City School District
"I do say truthfully that the instruction I received from Trish Scott has helped me to make violin playing easier for many, many students. Currently I am attempting to teach about 270 beginning string students, all 5th and 6th grade children, at six elementary schools in Salt Lake City School District.
I see all these students twice each week, in twelve classes. I hope I have had at least some small positive effect on the hundreds of students I've worked with over the past few years. If I succeed with any of these students, then there is no squeezing of the bow or violin, no forcing or stretching of fingers and hands into rigid positions or shapes, no twisting of arms into uncomfortable positions, and no pressing strings hard against the fingerboard.
If a person is doing things that make playing an instrument difficult or painful, he or she will not be able to make music for long. When the person moves freely, without forcing, music will flow naturally, and music making can continue for a very long time without any adverse physical effects."

"Trish Scott is an excellent and committed teacher. Not only is her background, education and experience exceptional but her love and passion for the violin and for teaching is unparalleled. The violin method she teaches is superior in terms of producing results. She teaches you how to be fully self-expressed in playing the violin without the usual strains and tensions that violin playing many times causes.
My experience of her teaching has been one of pure delight and enjoyment.
Before I took from her I would get frustrated because I couldn't seem to get past certain levels. But with her teaching I have progressed faster than I ever did before and it has been a lot more fun. If you have a chance to take from Trish Scott do it!!! Take advantage of the opportunity. I wish she were still in Utah. Now I have to drive almost 2000 miles to have a lesson. It is worth it!"
